Which of the following substances are electrolytes and which are non – electrolytes? Explain your answer. Copper (II) Chloride, Sugar, ether, Zinc sulphate.


  • Soln:


    Copper (II), Chloride and Zinc Sulphate are electrolytes as they conduct electricity when as they conduct electricity when molten or in solution and are decomposed by it.
    They are ionic compounds and provide ions which conduct electricity. Sugar and either are non – electrolytes, they do not conduct electricity.
